Display shows E06 and the unit will not recognize flow; gallons remaining never decrease.

Safety first: Shut off water to the softener and relieve pressure before removing any plumbing connections.

• Check programming: Enter the installer menu and verify the flow meter type (e.g., 3/4" turbine, 1" turbine) matches the installed Tier1 meter. Correct any mismatch and save settings.
• Inspect the flow meter: The flow meter is typically located in the outlet or bypass assembly. Remove it carefully. Check the turbine for iron buildup, sand, or debris preventing rotation.
• Clean the turbine: Rinse the turbine and housing with clean water. Spin the turbine gently with your finger; it should rotate freely with minimal resistance.
• Check wiring and sensor: Ensure the flow sensor harness is firmly connected to the control board. Inspect for cuts or pinched wires. Use a multimeter to verify sensor output if you have the specifications.
• Replace faulty meter: If the turbine is damaged or the sensor does not produce pulses when water flows, replace the Tier1 flow meter / turbine assembly.
