Brine tank overflows or is full of water

Safety: Shut off water to the softener and unplug it. Be prepared to manage spilled salty water.

• Stop the overflow: Close the inlet valve and, if necessary, siphon or pump excess water from the brine tank into a drain.
• Inspect brine float: Remove the brine well cover and ensure the float moves freely and shuts off water at the correct level. Clean or replace if it sticks.
• Check brine valve seat: Disassemble the brine valve assembly on the control head (if accessible) and inspect the seat and seals for debris or wear. Clean or replace as needed.
• Verify refill timing: Confirm that the brine refill time in the controller is not set excessively long. Adjust to the recommended setting for your tank size.
• Test operation: After repairs, run a manual regeneration and watch the brine refill stage to ensure the water stops at the proper level.
