Display shows ERR TIME or clock will not keep correct time

Safety: Low-voltage work only; unplug before removing the cover.

• Set time correctly: Enter the time-setting mode and ensure AM/PM or 24-hour format is set correctly. Save settings properly.
• Check for frequent outages: If your home experiences frequent power loss, consider using a small UPS (uninterruptible power supply) for the softener.
• Inspect board: Remove the cover and look for any obvious damage near the clock or backup capacitor area. There is usually no user-serviceable part; if damaged, replace the board.
• Replace control board: If the time drifts significantly within a day or two despite stable power, the clock circuit is likely defective and the board should be replaced.
