How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit before removing the control cover.

  • Dry the area: If the softener is in a damp location, check for condensation or water on the control panel. Dry thoroughly.
  • Inspect keypad cable: Remove the cover and ensure the keypad ribbon cable is firmly seated on the control board.
  • Test button response: After reseating, plug in and test each button. If some or all still fail, the keypad or board may be defective.
  • Replace keypad or board: Depending on design, replace the front keypad assembly or the entire control board with a US Water Systems replacement.
