Possible Causes

Cracked valve body, Worn O-rings on plumbing connectors, Loose adapter fittings, Freeze damage

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Immediately close the inlet valve and unplug the unit. Relieve pressure before tightening or replacing parts.

  • Identify leak source: Dry the area and observe where water reappears. Check around the plumbing adapters, bypass, and valve body seams.
  • Tighten fittings: Gently tighten any loose threaded or quick-connect fittings. Do not overtighten plastic parts.
  • Replace O-rings: If leaks occur at the inlet/outlet connections, remove the fittings and replace the O-rings with US Water Systems replacements. Lubricate with silicone grease before reassembly.
  • Inspect for cracks: If the valve body or bypass is cracked (often from freezing), the component must be replaced. Do not attempt to glue pressure-bearing parts.
