Softener never regenerates automatically but will regenerate when forced manually

• Check regeneration mode: Ensure the controller is set to METERED or DEMAND mode, not OFF.
• Verify meter function: Run water and confirm the display shows flow or counts down remaining capacity. If not, troubleshoot the flow meter.
• Adjust capacity/reserve: If capacity is set extremely high or reserve extremely low, the unit may take a very long time to trigger regen. Set realistic values based on household usage.
• Factory reset if needed: If settings appear corrupted, perform a factory reset and reprogram according to the US Water Systems manual.
