Possible Causes

Clogged injector/venturi, Blocked brine line, Stuck brine float, Air leak in brine fittings

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Shut off water and unplug the unit. Depressurize before removing injector or brine fittings.

  • Clean injector: Remove the injector cap on the control valve. Take out the injector nozzle and throat and soak in vinegar or a resin cleaner to remove iron and scale. Rinse and reinstall.
  • Inspect brine line and fittings: Check for kinks, blockages, or loose fittings. Tighten all connections and replace any cracked tubing.
  • Check brine float: Remove the brine well cover and ensure the float assembly moves freely. Clean any salt buildup and verify the air check at the bottom is not stuck closed.
  • Test brine draw: Start a manual regeneration and watch the brine level. If it now drops, the issue is resolved. If not, the valve may have an internal seal or piston problem requiring service.
