Possible Causes
Blocked brine injector, Stuck brine float, Brine line disconnected, Incorrect brine valve setting
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and close the inlet valve. Open a tap to relieve pressure before working on the brine system.
- Check salt usage: Mark the salt level in the brine tank and monitor over several days. If the level does not drop, the unit is not drawing brine.
- Inspect brine float: Remove the brine well cover and lift the float assembly. Ensure it moves freely and is not stuck in the closed position due to salt buildup.
- Verify brine line connections: Confirm that the brine hose is firmly connected at both the valve head and the brine well, with no leaks or cracks.
- Clean injector and nozzle: Remove and clean the injector/venturi components on the valve head. Soak in vinegar to dissolve scale and rinse thoroughly.
- Test brine draw: Start a manual regeneration and observe the brine level. It should drop during the brine draw stage. If not, the brine valve or control head may require replacement.
