Possible Causes
Faulty valve motor, Jammed rotor disc in Water2Buy control head, Broken or misaligned motor gear, Faulty position sensor or microswitch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and close the inlet valve. Place the softener in bypass if available to maintain household water.
- Listen for motor operation: With the cover on, reconnect power and start a manual regeneration. If you hear no motor noise, the motor may be failed or not receiving power.
- Remove control cover: With power disconnected, remove the plastic cover of the Water2Buy valve head to access the motor and gear assembly.
- Check for obstructions: Inspect the rotor disc and gears for salt creep, debris, or broken plastic pieces. Gently clear any obstruction without forcing the rotor.
- Test motor connection: Ensure the motor wiring harness is firmly seated on the control board. Look for corrosion or burnt connectors.
- Manual indexing (if allowed by manual): Some Water2Buy heads allow manual rotation of the rotor using a screwdriver on the motor shaft. Carefully rotate to the service position to restore water while awaiting parts.
- Replace faulty components: If the motor does not run when powered, replace the valve motor. If the rotor or position sensor is damaged, replace the complete control head for reliability.
