Possible Causes
Incorrect hardness or capacity settings, Flow meter miscalibration, Control firmware error, Faulty usage calculation on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No internal high-voltage work is required for this check, but unplug the unit if removing covers.
- Verify programming: Confirm that water hardness, capacity, and regeneration mode (demand vs. time clock) are correctly set according to your WaterBoss model and local water conditions.
- Reset to factory defaults: Use the control menu to restore factory settings, then re-enter your parameters.
- Check flow meter function: Ensure that water usage is being counted (if your model displays gallons used). If not, troubleshoot the flow meter as in E7.
- If E8 persists: The control board may have a firmware or calculation fault and likely requires replacement.
