Possible Causes
Collapsed resin bed blocking outlet, Plugged distributor screen, Jammed rotor & disc in closed position, Debris in valve ports
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Leave the unit in bypass to maintain water supply while troubleshooting. Shut off water and relieve pressure before opening the valve or tank connections.
- Check for resin in plumbing: Open a faucet and look for small amber beads. If present, the internal distributor or bottom screen may have failed.
- Inspect valve outlet: Remove the outlet connection at the valve and check for blockage by resin or debris.
- Examine rotor & disc: Remove the valve cover and rotor & disc. Clean any debris and inspect for warping or damage.
- Check distributor tube and screen: If resin has migrated, the bottom screen or basket in the resin tank may be broken and should be replaced. Resin may also need to be replaced.
