WaterBoss
Salt Bridging
Salt forms a hard crust (salt bridge) in the WaterBoss brine cabinet

Possible Causes
High humidity, Using pellet salt with fine powder, Overfilling brine tank, Infrequent salt usage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Wear gloves and eye protection when breaking up salt; sharp edges can cut skin.
- Identify bridge: Tap the side of the brine cabinet. A hollow sound near the top with solid below often indicates a bridge.
- Break the bridge: Insert a broom handle or plastic rod into the salt and gently push down to break the crust. Do not use excessive force that could damage the tank.
- Remove loose chunks: Scoop out large pieces of salt and discard if they are contaminated with dirt or debris.
- Refill properly: Refill with high-purity solar or pellet salt, keeping the level no more than about 2/3 full to reduce bridging.
- Prevent recurrence: Periodically stir the salt bed with a plastic tool and keep the brine cabinet lid closed to limit humidity.
