Possible Causes
Clogged brine injector (venturi), Blocked brine line, Stuck brine valve, Salt bridge in brine cabinet
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Place the unit in bypass and unplug power before servicing the brine system.
- Check for salt bridge: Push a broom handle or plastic rod straight down into the salt. If you hit a hard crust with empty space underneath, break up the bridge and remove loose chunks.
- Inspect brine line: Follow the small tubing from the valve to the brine well. Ensure it is not kinked, pinched, or leaking. Remove and blow through it to confirm it is clear.
- Clean injector/venturi: Remove the injector assembly from the valve (usually under a cap). Soak in warm water and clean small orifices with a soft brush or toothpick. Do not enlarge the holes.
- Check brine valve float: Remove the brine well cover and ensure the float assembly moves freely up and down. Clean any salt sludge or debris.
- Run a manual regeneration: After reassembly, start a regeneration and observe whether the brine level drops during brine draw.
