WaterBoss softener makes loud banging or hammering noises during regeneration

Possible Causes
High water pressure, Loose plumbing supports, Rapid closing of internal valve ports, Air in plumbing lines
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Use caution when working with pressurized plumbing. Turn off water and relieve pressure before installing any devices.
- Check water pressure: Use a pressure gauge on a nearby faucet. If pressure exceeds 80 psi, install a pressure-reducing valve per plumbing code.
- Secure pipes: Ensure inlet and outlet pipes are firmly strapped to walls or framing to reduce movement.
- Install water hammer arrestors: If hammer persists, consider installing hammer arrestors near the softener or at problem fixtures.
- Bleed air: Open several faucets after regeneration to purge air from the lines.
