Programming / Parameter Corruption
E06 error and unit regenerates at incorrect times or too frequently
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Incorrect hardness or capacity settings, Corrupted firmware parameters, Faulty keypad causing unintended changes, Control board memory fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before opening the control panel.
- Verify settings: Enter the programming mode on the Waterguy controller. Confirm the hardness, capacity, reserve, and regeneration time match your installation requirements.
- Factory reset: Perform a full factory reset according to the Waterguy manual. Re-enter all parameters carefully.
- Check keypad: Press each button individually and ensure none are sticking or registering multiple presses. Clean the keypad surface with a slightly damp cloth (no solvents).
- Firmware update (if supported): Some Waterguy models allow firmware updates via a service port. This should be done only by a qualified technician.
If E06 reappears after a reset and correct programming, the control board may have a non-volatile memory fault and should be replaced.
