Possible Causes
Disconnected or damaged salt level probe, Heavy salt bridging around sensor, Corroded sensor contacts, Failed salt sensor module on Waterguy brine well
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit. Open the brine tank carefully; avoid breathing dust from salt pellets.
- Locate sensor: Find the Waterguy salt level sensor mounted in or near the brine well tube inside the brine tank.
- Clear salt bridge: Use a broom handle or plastic rod to gently break up any hardened salt crust around the sensor. Do not use metal tools that can damage the tank.
- Clean sensor: Remove the sensor if possible. Wipe the probe surfaces with a damp cloth to remove salt residue. Inspect wiring for cracks or corrosion.
- Check connection: Trace the sensor cable back to the control head and ensure it is firmly plugged into the correct port.
After cleaning and reconnecting, restore power and clear the error. If E08 persists, replace the Waterguy salt level sensor assembly.
