Possible Causes
Damaged keypad membrane, Loose ribbon cable between keypad and main board, Liquid intrusion into control panel, Failed user interface PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the softener before opening the control housing.
- Inspect for moisture: Remove the front cover and check for signs of condensation or water ingress. Dry gently with a cloth and allow to air dry completely.
- Reseat ribbon cable: Disconnect and reconnect the flat ribbon cable from the keypad to the main board. Ensure it is fully inserted and locked.
- Check for physical damage: Look for cracks or punctures in the keypad overlay. If buttons feel mushy or stuck, the membrane is likely damaged.
- Test response: Restore power and test each button. If none respond, the keypad or UI board must be replaced.
