Possible Causes
Failed temperature probe on control valve, Probe wiring damaged or disconnected, Sensor exposed to hot water above rating, Control board analog input failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure only cold water is supplied to the softener. Hot water can damage internal components.
- Verify plumbing: Confirm that the Waterguy softener is installed on the cold-water line only and that there is no cross-connection allowing hot water backflow.
- Inspect sensor: Locate the temperature sensor on the valve body (if present). Check that it is firmly seated and the wiring is intact.
- Check connections: Reseat the sensor connector on the control board.
- Cool down and reset: If the unit was exposed to hot water, allow it to cool to room temperature, then clear the error.
If E13 persists with normal cold water, replace the Waterguy temperature sensor or main control board as needed.
