Possible Causes
Failed drain solenoid (if separate from main valve), Jammed brine valve plunger, Broken actuator linkage, Electrical fault to auxiliary valve coil
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and place it in BYPASS. Depressurize before opening any valve components.
- Locate auxiliary valves: Identify any separate drain or brine solenoid valves on your Waterguy model.
- Check wiring: Ensure the coil connectors are firmly attached and not corroded.
- Mechanical inspection: Remove the valve body cover and inspect the plunger or diaphragm for debris or scale. Clean with water and a soft brush.
- Coil test: Use a multimeter to measure coil resistance. An open circuit indicates a failed coil that must be replaced.
If E16 continues after cleaning and coil verification, replace the affected Waterguy auxiliary valve assembly.
