Possible Causes

Salt bridge in brine tank, Clogged venturi/eductor, Blocked brine line, Stuck brine safety float in up position

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit before working inside the brine tank. Wear gloves and eye protection when breaking salt bridges.

  • Check for salt bridge: Push a broom handle straight down into the salt. If you hit a hollow space before reaching the bottom, a hard crust (bridge) has formed. Gently break it up and remove loose chunks.
  • Verify water in brine tank: After a regeneration, there should be several inches of water at the bottom. If completely dry, the refill stage may be blocked (see E19 steps).
  • Clean venturi/eductor: Remove and clean the Waterguy venturi assembly with vinegar to restore suction.
  • Inspect float: Ensure the brine safety float moves freely and is not stuck in the up (shutoff) position. Clean and reassemble.
