Possible Causes
Worn O-rings between valve and tank, Cracked control valve body, Loose plumbing unions, Damaged injector or drain port seals
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit, close inlet and outlet valves, and depressurize by opening a faucet before tightening or removing any fittings.
- Identify leak source: Dry the area and observe where water first appears: tank/valve junction, inlet/outlet unions, drain fitting, or injector cap.
- Tighten unions: Gently snug the inlet/outlet and drain fittings with a wrench. Do not overtighten plastic fittings.
- Replace O-rings: If leaking at the tank/valve junction, remove the valve head and replace the large tank O-ring with a Waterguy-approved seal. Lubricate with silicone grease before reassembly.
- Inspect for cracks: If the valve body is cracked, replace the entire Waterguy control valve assembly.
