Softener uses excessive salt; salt level drops very quickly

Safety first: Unplug the unit before adjusting internal components.

• Review settings: Check salt dosage, brine refill time, and capacity settings in the Waterguy controller. Adjust to manufacturer-recommended values.
• Check regen frequency: Ensure hardness and capacity are set correctly so the unit does not regenerate unnecessarily often.
• Inspect brine valve: Verify that water is not continuously trickling into the brine tank when the unit is in service. If it is, the brine valve is leaking and should be rebuilt or replaced.
