Possible Causes
Faulty flow meter input on control board, Corrupted usage memory, Incorrect hardness or capacity programming, Intermittent flow sensor wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before handling wiring.
- Verify programming: Enter the Watersoft programming menu and confirm hardness, capacity, and regeneration mode (metered vs time-clock) are set correctly per your water test and manual.
- Check flow sensor wiring: Inspect the harness from the flow sensor/turbine to the control board. Repair any damaged insulation or loose connectors.
- Usage test: With the cover off and power on, run water in the house and watch the display. It should show flow or remaining capacity changing. If not, suspect the flow sensor or board input.
- Factory reset: Perform a factory reset of the controller if supported, then reprogram all settings. This can clear corrupted usage data that triggers E07.
If E07 persists and the flow sensor is known good, the main control board’s metering circuit may be defective and require replacement.
