Possible Causes
Clogged inlet screen on Watersoft valve, Partially closed inlet valve, Whole-house sediment filter plugged, Failing well pump or pressure tank
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off water and relieve pressure before removing screens or filters.
- Check household pressure: Open a cold faucet and observe flow. If weak throughout the house, investigate well pump, municipal supply, or main shutoff valves.
- Inspect inlet screen: Remove the Watersoft valve inlet fitting and clean any debris from the inlet screen or filter basket. Rinse thoroughly and reinstall.
- Check pre-filters: Replace any clogged sediment or carbon filters installed ahead of the softener.
- Verify valves: Ensure the main inlet valve and any isolation valves are fully open and not partially closed.
After restoring normal pressure, clear E17 and run a manual regeneration to confirm proper operation.
