Softener display is on but frozen or unresponsive to button presses

Safety first: Unplug the unit before removing the control cover.

• Power cycle: Disconnect power for at least 5 minutes, then restore. Check if the display responds normally.
• Dry moisture: Inspect the control board for condensation or water droplets. Dry gently with a soft cloth and allow to air dry completely.
• Test keypad: Press each button and observe any response. If some buttons work and others do not, replace the Watersoft keypad/user interface.
• Surge protection: Consider plugging the unit into a surge-protected outlet to prevent future lockups from power spikes.
