Softener regenerates at unexpected times, such as during peak water use

Safety first: Programming changes can usually be made with the unit powered and in service.

• Set correct time: Adjust the Watersoft controller to the actual local time.
• Change regen time: Program regeneration to occur during low-use hours (e.g., 2:00 AM).
• Check regen mode: If set to immediate metered regeneration, change to delayed regeneration so cycles wait until the programmed time.
• Install/replace backup battery: If the clock resets after outages, replace the control board backup battery if applicable.
