Softener uses very little or no salt over several weeks

Safety first: Use gloves when breaking up salt bridges to avoid injury.

• Check regeneration history: Review the Watersoft controller to see when the last regeneration occurred. If none, correct programming or repair initiation faults.
• Inspect for salt bridge: Push a broom handle down through the salt. If you hit a hollow space before water, break up the bridge and remove hardened salt.
• Verify brine draw: Observe a regeneration to ensure the brine level drops. If not, clean the injector and brine line.
• Confirm mode: Ensure the unit is not in vacation or service bypass mode in the programming.
