Possible Causes
Cracked brine tank, Loose brine line fitting, Leaking brine well, Overflow from stuck float
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Wear gloves and eye protection when handling brine. Place the unit in bypass and unplug if working near wiring.
Steps:
- Locate leak: Dry the outside of the brine tank and observe where liquid appears. Check around the base, fittings, and brine well.
- Inspect fittings: Tighten hose clamps and threaded fittings on the brine line. Replace any cracked elbows or connectors.
- Check float and overflow: Ensure the brine float shuts off water properly and that the overflow fitting (if present) is routed to a drain.
- Examine tank body: Look for cracks or splits in the plastic tank, especially near seams and corners.
Resolution: Replace damaged brine line fittings or the entire brine tank assembly if the tank itself is cracked or deformed.
