How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and place it in bypass before disassembling any valve components. Wear gloves when handling brine.
Steps:
- Check salt and brine: Confirm the brine tank has salt and that there is water at the bottom. Add salt if low.
- Clean injector/venturi: Locate the injector/venturi assembly on the valve head. Remove the cap and carefully take out the nozzle, venturi, and screens. Soak in warm water and clean with a soft brush to remove iron or scale.
- Verify brine draw: Place the unit in manual regeneration and observe the brine level. It should drop during the brine draw stage. If it does not, the brine line, injector, or valve is blocked.
- Check programming: Ensure hardness is set correctly for your water supply and that regeneration is scheduled often enough for your household usage.
Resolution: If cleaning and reprogramming do not restore soft water, replace the injector/venturi kit and inspect the brine valve assembly. Persistent NO SOFT messages may require a technician to test resin condition and control board operation.
