Possible Causes

Cracked mineral tank, Damaged tank neck, Leaking tank-to-valve O-ring, Distributor tube not sealing

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Place the unit in bypass, shut off water if necessary, and depressurize the system. Unplug the unit before removing the valve head.

Steps:

  • Confirm source: Dry the area and watch for water seeping from the tank neck, fittings, or the tank body itself.
  • Inspect tank neck O-ring: Remove the valve head and check the large O-ring that seals the valve to the tank. Replace if flattened or damaged.
  • Check distributor tube fit: Ensure the distributor tube seats properly into the valve head and is not cracked at the top.
  • Examine tank body: Look for visible cracks or bulges in the fiberglass or plastic tank.

Resolution: Replace the tank-to-valve O-ring or distributor tube as needed. If the mineral tank is cracked, replace the entire mineral tank assembly and transfer resin if still usable.
