Possible Causes
Shorted compressor windings, Blocked condenser causing high pressure, Faulty compressor start device, Control board overcurrent detection fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety warning: High voltage and high-pressure refrigerant are present. Do not open the sealed system. Unplug before touching components.
Steps:
- 1. Check ventilation: Ensure the rear and sides of the wine cooler have the required clearance. Clean dust from the condenser coil with a soft brush or vacuum.
- 2. Listen to compressor: If it starts then stops within seconds and E10 appears, overheating or overcurrent may be detected.
- 3. Inspect start relay/PTC: As with E5, remove the compressor terminal cover and check the start device for damage. Replace if suspect.
- 4. Measure compressor windings (advanced): With the unit unplugged and start device removed, measure resistance between compressor terminals (C, S, R). Very low or zero resistance between any pair, or continuity to ground, indicates a shorted compressor requiring professional replacement.
- 5. Control board: If compressor and start device test good but E10 persists, the control board's current sensing or relay may be faulty and require replacement.
