Possible Causes
Failed condenser fan motor, Obstructed condenser fan blades, Dirty condenser coil causing overheating, Faulty fan wiring or control output
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance before accessing the rear condenser area.
Steps:
- 1. Access condenser area: Remove the rear lower panel. Identify the condenser coil and any fan mounted near it (some compact AEG models rely on natural convection and have no fan).
- 2. Check fan operation: With the panel off, briefly power the unit and observe whether the condenser fan runs when the compressor runs. Then unplug again.
- 3. Clear obstructions: Remove dust, pet hair, or debris from the fan blades and condenser fins. Ensure the fan spins freely by hand.
- 4. Test fan motor: Disconnect the fan connector and measure resistance across the motor. An open circuit indicates a failed motor.
- 5. Replace fan: Install the correct AEG condenser fan motor assembly. Secure it firmly and reconnect wiring with correct polarity if DC.
- 6. Control output: If the fan motor is good but never receives power, the control board or wiring may be defective and should be checked by a technician.
