Possible Causes

Failed display PCB, Loose ribbon cable between UI and main board, Moisture ingress into control panel, Damaged touch keys or buttons

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect mains power before removing the control panel.

Steps:

  • 1. Inspect front panel: Check for signs of moisture, cracks, or physical damage to the display and buttons.
  • 2. Remove control panel: Carefully remove trim and screws, then pull the panel forward. Do not pull hard on ribbon cables.
  • 3. Reseat connectors: Disconnect and reconnect the ribbon cable and any harnesses between the display PCB and main board. Ensure they are fully seated and not corroded.
  • 4. Dry out moisture: If condensation is present, gently dry the area and allow the panel to air dry completely before reassembly.
  • 5. Replace display PCB: If the display remains blank or garbled, replace the user interface/display PCB with the correct AEG part. Transfer any mounting brackets or seals.
  • 6. Check main board: If a new display PCB does not resolve E14, the main control board may be at fault and should be replaced by a technician.
