How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before working on the control panel.
Steps:
- 1. Clean the panel: Wipe the touch area with a soft, slightly damp cloth to remove any residue that might cause false touches. Dry thoroughly.
- 2. Power reset: Unplug for 10 minutes, then reconnect and test the keys. If E16 returns, continue.
- 3. Inspect keypad connection: Remove the control panel and check the ribbon cable or connector from the keypad to the display PCB. Reseat it firmly.
- 4. Check for physical damage: Look for cracks or delamination of the touch surface. If damaged, the keypad assembly must be replaced.
- 5. Replace keypad/UI assembly: Install the correct AEG keypad or complete UI assembly. Ensure seals are intact to prevent future moisture ingress.
