Possible Causes
Failed NTC sensor in upper or lower zone, Wiring harness damage between zones, Loose connector at zone interface board, Faulty zone control circuitry
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before removing internal panels.
Steps:
- 1. Identify affected zone: Determine whether the upper or lower zone is showing E17 and not cooling properly.
- 2. Locate zone sensor: Each zone has its own cabinet sensor, usually behind a small cover on the side or rear wall of that zone.
- 3. Inspect and test sensor: Remove the cover, check the sensor and wiring, and test resistance with a multimeter. Replace if open or shorted.
- 4. Check inter-zone harness: On dual-zone models, a harness often runs between zones or to a central board. Inspect for pinched or damaged wires.
- 5. Replace sensor or harness: Fit the correct AEG zone temperature sensor or harness as needed.
- 6. Control board: If sensors and wiring are good, the zone control circuit on the main board may be faulty and require replacement.
