E18 error, dual-zone model cannot maintain separate temperatures; both zones drift together

Safety: Unplug the wine cooler before accessing internal ducting.

Steps:

• 1. Observe symptoms: If both zones are nearly the same temperature despite different setpoints, the damper may be stuck open or closed.
• 2. Locate damper: The damper is typically located in the partition between zones, behind an internal cover or grille.
• 3. Inspect damper: Remove the cover and check if the damper flap moves freely. Look for broken plastic gears or obstructions.
• 4. Test damper motor: Disconnect the motor and measure resistance. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. If possible, apply low voltage (per specifications) to see if it moves (only if you are experienced).
• 5. Replace damper assembly: Install the correct AEG air damper/motor assembly. Ensure the flap seals properly when closed.
• 6. Control board: If the damper is functional but never actuates, the control board output may be faulty.
