Possible Causes
Door gasket leaking warm moist air, Blocked condensate drain hole, Defrost heater or thermostat failure (frost-free models), Frequent door opening in humid environment
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before defrosting or removing panels.
Steps:
- 1. Manual defrost: Switch off and leave the door open until all ice melts. Use towels to absorb water. Do not use sharp tools.
- 2. Clear drain: Locate the drain hole at the rear interior and clear it with a soft brush or pipe cleaner. Flush with warm water.
- 3. Check gasket: Inspect the door seal for gaps, tears, or hardened sections. Replace if not sealing properly.
- 4. Defrost components (if applicable): On frost-free AEG models, test the defrost heater and thermostat as described under E13.
- 5. Usage habits: Minimize door opening time and avoid placing wet bottles inside.
