Possible Causes
Failed evaporator fan for one zone, Air damper stuck closed, Separate thermistor failure in warm zone, Control board channel failure for that zone
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before accessing internal panels.
- Identify affected zone: Determine whether the upper or lower zone is not cooling.
- Check fan operation: Open the door and listen for airflow in each zone. If one zone's fan is silent, access that zone's evaporator fan and test/replace it.
- Inspect air damper (if equipped): Some dual-zone models use dampers to share cooling. Ensure the damper for the warm zone is not stuck closed or blocked.
- Test zone thermistor: Measure resistance of the thermistor for the warm zone and compare to spec. Replace if out of range.
- Control board evaluation: If hardware is good but one zone still does not cool, the control board's output for that zone may be faulty and require replacement.
