Wine cooler displays E3 and interior temperature reading is obviously incorrect (e.g., shows 10°F when room is 70°F)

Safety: Unplug the unit before removing any control panels.

• Identify ambient sensor location: On many Amana wine coolers, the ambient sensor is located near the front grille or behind the control panel, sensing room temperature for proper regulation.
• Remove control panel or grille: Carefully pry off the front control panel bezel or remove screws holding the lower grille. Avoid damaging display ribbon cables.
• Inspect the sensor: Look for a small probe or thermistor assembly connected by two wires. Check for physical damage, discoloration, or broken insulation.
• Check connections: Ensure the sensor plug is fully seated on the main control board and that there is no corrosion or burnt marks on the connector pins.
• Test the sensor: With a multimeter, measure resistance at room temperature and compare to Amana's ambient thermistor spec. Replace if open, shorted, or far out of range.
• Replace if needed: Install a new ambient thermistor, secure it in the same location, and route wiring away from hot components and moving parts.
