Possible Causes
Failed evaporator fan motor, Obstructed fan blade, Loose fan wiring connector, Main control board fan driver failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety warning: Unplug the wine cooler before accessing the fan. Fan blades can be sharp.
- Access the evaporator fan: Remove interior shelves and the rear inner panel to expose the evaporator fan assembly.
- Check for obstructions: Ensure no wires, insulation, or ice are blocking the fan blade. Clear any obstructions and verify the blade spins freely by hand.
- Inspect wiring: Confirm the fan motor connector is fully seated and that wires are not pinched or broken.
- Test the fan motor: With the fan disconnected, check for continuity across the motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. If comfortable and safe, you can briefly power the fan with a suitable low-voltage test source to confirm operation.
- Replace the fan motor if defective: Remove mounting screws, transfer the fan blade to the new motor if needed, and reinstall the assembly. Route wiring as originally installed.
- Check control board output: If the fan tests good but does not receive power when the compressor is running, the main control board fan circuit may be faulty and require replacement.
- Reassemble and test: Reinstall the inner panel, restore power, and verify that the fan runs when cooling is active and that the E7 code clears.
