Wine cooler displays E8 and the unit will not cool, compressor does not start

• Access compressor compartment: Move the unit away from the wall and remove the rear lower access panel.

• Test overload protector: With the overload removed, check for continuity. An open overload indicates it has tripped or failed and should be replaced.
• Check compressor windings: With all components removed from the compressor terminals, measure resistance between each pair of pins. Extremely high or zero readings may indicate a locked or shorted compressor, which typically requires professional replacement.
• Replace faulty start components: Install a new OEM start relay/PTC and overload protector, ensuring tight connections on the compressor terminals.
• Restore power and test: Reinstall the rear panel, plug in the unit, and listen for the compressor to start. If E8 persists and the compressor does not run despite new start components, the main control board or compressor itself may be defective and should be evaluated by a technician.
