Wine cooler is leaking water onto the floor from the front or rear
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Clogged defrost drain, Disconnected drain tube, Excessive door openings causing condensation, Unit not level causing water to spill from drip tray
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before removing panels. Wipe up any water to prevent slipping.
- Level the unit: Ensure the cooler is slightly tilted back so water flows to the rear drain.
- Locate drain hole: Inside the cabinet, find the small drain hole at the rear (below the evaporator area). Clean it with a pipe cleaner or soft brush to remove debris.
- Check rear drain tube and pan: Remove the rear panel and verify the drain tube is securely attached and routed into the drain pan above the compressor.
- Clean drain pan: Empty and clean the drain pan if it is overflowing or dirty.
- Reduce door openings: Frequent or prolonged door openings in humid environments can cause excess condensation. Minimize door open time.
