Possible Causes
Weak compressor start relay/PTC, Failing compressor drawing high current, Low supply voltage, Overheated compressor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the cooler before accessing the compressor. Components may be hot.
- Check supply voltage: Avoid using long extension cords. Plug directly into a properly grounded outlet.
- Allow cooling: If the compressor is very hot, leave the unit unplugged for 30–60 minutes to cool down.
- Inspect and replace start components: Remove the compressor cover and inspect the start relay/PTC and overload protector. Replace them if they show signs of overheating or test open.
- Monitor operation: After replacing start components, plug in and observe. If the compressor still clicks off repeatedly, the compressor itself may be failing and will require professional replacement.
