Display shows E3 and temperature reading is obviously incorrect (e.g., shows 88°F while interior is cold).

Safety: Unplug the wine cooler before working near the compressor compartment or control board.

• Locate the ambient sensor: On many Antarctic Star wine coolers, the ambient sensor is mounted near the front kick plate or behind the front frame to measure room temperature. Look for a small probe or plastic sensor with two wires.
• Visual inspection: Check that the sensor is not broken, crushed, or hanging loose. Ensure it is not touching hot components like the compressor discharge line.
• Clean and reconnect: Disconnect the sensor plug, inspect for corrosion, clean with electrical contact cleaner if available, and reconnect firmly.
• Test resistance: With the unit unplugged, measure the sensor resistance and compare it to the cabinet thermistor at similar temperature. A reading of OL or 0 Ω indicates a bad sensor.
• Replace the ambient sensor: If faulty, install a new ambient temperature sensor / thermistor specified for your Antarctic Star model. Route the wiring away from moving or hot parts.
• Control board check: If the sensor tests good but E3 persists, the main control PCB may not be reading the sensor correctly and may need replacement.
