Possible Causes

Failed DC fan motor, Obstructed fan blades by ice or debris, Loose fan wiring connector, Faulty fan driver circuit on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit before working near the fan or evaporator.

  • Access the interior fan: Remove shelves and the rear interior panel to expose the evaporator and fan assembly.
  • Check for obstructions: Spin the fan blades by hand. Remove any ice buildup, labels, or wiring that may be blocking movement. If there is heavy ice, fully defrost the unit.
  • Inspect wiring: Ensure the fan motor connector is firmly plugged into the harness and that wires are not cut or pinched.
  • Test the fan motor: With the fan disconnected, measure resistance across the motor leads. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. If you have a suitable DC power source, you can briefly power the fan to confirm operation.
  • Replace the fan motor: If defective, install a new evaporator / interior fan motor designed for your Antarctic Star model. Transfer any mounting brackets or grommets from the old motor.
  • Control board diagnosis: If the fan tests good but does not receive voltage when the compressor is running, the main control PCB fan driver may be faulty and require replacement.
