Possible Causes
Failed thermoelectric (Peltier) module, Overheated heat sink due to dust or fan failure, Faulty heat sink temperature sensor, Control board driver failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the thermoelectric wine cooler before opening the rear panel.
- Access Peltier assembly: Remove the rear cover to expose the aluminum heat sink, Peltier module, and cooling fan.
- Clean heat sink and fan: Use compressed air or a soft brush to remove dust from the fins and fan. Overheating can trigger F3.
- Check fan operation: With the unit briefly powered (if safe), verify the fan spins when cooling is demanded. If not, replace the cooling fan motor.
- Inspect sensor: Some models have a sensor attached to the heat sink. Check its wiring and mounting.
- Test Peltier module: With a multimeter, check for continuity across the Peltier module leads. An open circuit indicates a failed module.
- Replace faulty parts: Install a new thermoelectric (Peltier) cooling module and/or heat sink temperature sensor as needed. Use thermal paste between the module and heat sinks.
- Control board: If all components test good, the main control PCB may not be driving the module correctly and may need replacement.
