Possible Causes
Control locked in lowest setpoint, Faulty temperature sensor causing out-of-range reading, Control board firmware limitation, User lock function enabled
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No internal work is needed for basic checks; unplug only if removing panels.
- Check user manual: Some Antarctic Star models display Lo when set to their minimum temperature. Verify the allowed range and adjust within it.
- Unlock controls: If a control lock is enabled, follow the manual (often holding a specific button for 3–5 seconds) to unlock and adjust temperature.
- Compare with thermometer: Place an accurate thermometer inside and compare to the display. If the display is far off, the cabinet thermistor may be faulty.
- Replace sensor if needed: If the sensor is defective, replace it as described in the E1 procedure.
- Control board: If sensor is good but Lo remains and temperature cannot be set correctly, the main control PCB may require replacement.
