Possible Causes
Dust-clogged heat sink, Failing Peltier module, Rear fan not moving enough air, Poor ventilation around unit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the thermoelectric cooler before removing the rear panel.
- Improve ventilation: Ensure there is adequate space around the cooler for heat dissipation, especially at the rear.
- Clean heat sink and fan: Remove the rear cover and clean dust from the aluminum heat sink and cooling fan with a brush and vacuum.
- Check fan operation: Briefly power the unit and confirm the fan runs at full speed. Replace the cooling fan motor if weak or not running.
- Test Peltier module: If cooling is still poor, the Peltier module may be degraded. Replace it, using fresh thermal paste between the module and heat sinks.
