Possible Causes
Clogged condensate drain hole, Disconnected or kinked drain tube, Excessive condensation from door gasket leak, Unit not level causing water to overflow
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the cooler before working inside. Wipe up any water to avoid slipping.
- Locate drain hole: Inside the cabinet, usually at the rear near the bottom, find the small drain hole that leads to the condensate pan.
- Clear blockage: Use a soft pipe cleaner, cotton swab, or flexible plastic strip to gently clear any debris or mold from the drain hole.
- Check drain tube and pan: From the rear, locate the drain tube leading to the evaporator pan above the compressor. Ensure it is not kinked or disconnected. Clean the pan if dirty.
- Level the unit: Use a level to ensure the cooler is slightly tilted back so water flows to the drain. Adjust the front leveling feet as needed.
- Inspect door gasket: Replace the door gasket if warm air infiltration is causing excessive condensation.
