Possible Causes
Failed compressor start relay/PTC, Open compressor winding, Faulty compressor relay on main PCB, Low supply voltage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the cooler before working near the compressor. High voltage is present when powered.
- Listen for start attempts: When powered, listen for a brief hum followed by a click from the compressor area. Repeated clicking suggests start device issues.
- Inspect start device: Remove the rear panel and the plastic cover on the compressor terminals. Check the start relay/PTC for burn marks or cracking.
- Test and replace: With the unit unplugged, test the start device for continuity according to its specifications. Replace with an OEM Aobosi-compatible start relay/PTC if faulty.
- Check compressor windings: Measure resistance between the compressor terminals (C-R, C-S, R-S). Infinite or zero readings indicate a failed compressor, which requires professional replacement.
- Control board relay: If the compressor never receives power, the compressor relay on the main PCB may be defective and the board should be replaced.
